Meet Susanna Reid, LMSW

Susanna Reid, LMSW

Hello, I’m Susanna (she/her).

I strongly believe in meeting my clients right where they are, in all the messy, beautiful moments that life throws at us. Because every person walks through the door with a unique background, value system, sexual orientation, and lived experience, I intentionally tailor my therapeutic approach to fit your specific needs.

I view the mind and body as an interconnected system. While I don't practice formal somatic therapy, I regularly incorporate body-centered tools like grounding and somatic awareness into our work. These practices help you regulate stress, release trauma held in the body, and build a deeper connection to yourself.

My approach is deeply human and compassionately direct. I’m here to offer an authentic, transparent therapeutic relationship where to tackling the heavy things together feels less scary. Talking about trauma and life’s challenges requires immense vulnerability, I make sure our space is always rooted in safety, empathy, and lighthearted humor, helping the scary moments feel safer to explore.

I’ve worked with adolescents, adults, and couples with many different challenges including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, dissociative disorders (including DID), trauma, and the unique stressors faced by first responders. In addition, I integrate various modalities into sessions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with an emphasis on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) and I am formally trained in Trauma- Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT).

When I’m not working, you can find me painting, practicing yoga, spending time in nature, biking, and hanging out with my loved ones and pets.
